It has to work properly when I’m gone, not just look good on the last day.
I like to start with the practical stuff: how your home works now, what needs to change and what the renovation is going to mean for you while the work is happening — and after I’m gone.

People will call and say, “I need a new bathroom.” Fair enough. But before we start picking tile, I want to know why. What isn’t working? Who uses the room? What’s changed? What needs to be better when we’re done?
Renovations are full of connected decisions. Move a vanity and now we may be talking about plumbing, storage, lighting and how you move through the room. Some decisions have to come before others, and sometimes the house gives us a hard limit. I’d rather tell you that up front than pretend there’s always an easy workaround.

The little things matter. They’re usually what you notice every day after the job is done.
Take a look at some of my work. Bathrooms, family spaces, cottage repairs, restoration — the jobs are different because the problems were different.
